WEST HAVEN, CT - Seven strong innings from starter LHP Brad Whitworth (3-2) and a five-run fourth inning lifted the New Haven County Cutters over the New Jersey Jackals, 6-3, Wednesday night in the final game of a three-game series at Historic Yale Field.

The Cutters fell behind 2-0 in the top of the fourth inning but benefited from four errors and a two-run home run from third baseman Junior Zamora (4) in the bottom half of the frame to score five times and take a 5-2 lead.

Cutters' right fielder Kevin Whiteside contributed a RBI triple and centerfielder Ervin Alcantara added a run scoring single in the inning. Alcantara went 4-for-5 on the night.

Four of the five runs scored by the Cutters in the fourth inning were unearned.

Catcher Matt Hackney's solo home run (1) in the eighth inning made the final score 6-3.

Cutters' closer RHP Andy Weimer nailed down a 1-2-3 ninth inning to collect the save (4).

Jackals' starter LHP Isacc Pavlik (4-1) suffered his first defeat of the season, victimized by his defense's six total errors in the game. Pavlik was charged with one earned run on nine hits and struck out seven in 6.2 innings.

Catcher Clay Kuklick went 2-for-4 with a RBI for the Jackals.
