Cutters Lose Fourth Straight

The Williamsport Crosscutters lost 11-7 on Wednesday night, falling to 2-4 on the season as they were swept in the final game of a three-game series versus the Jamestown Jammers.

The Crosscutters jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the top of the first, aided by four straight hits to start the ballgame.

The Jammers answered right away in their half of the first, collecting two runs on two hits off Cutters Starter Leonel Bastidas. They added six more in the second aided by a Williamsport defensive error to go up 8-3.

The Cutters got four runs back in the fifth inning, as Aaron Altherr drove a home run over the billboards in left-center field. Three batters later Bob Stumpo delivered an RBI double to make it 8-7 Jamestown.

Jamestown pushed the lead to 11-7 in the sixth highlighted by a two-run double by Marquise Cooper.

The Crosscutters will return to Williamsport to open a three-game homestand versus Batavia on June 23. Every Cutters game can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com.
