Cutters Fall Short In Ohio

Crosscutters pitching combined to strike out 17 Scrappers batters, setting a new season-high, but fell 6-5 in the series finale.

Keudy Bocio went 2 for 4 with his first two doubles of the season, driving in three runs for his first multi- RBI game of the season. Jonathan Guzman finished the night 3 for 3 with a double and two runs scored for the Cutters.

Francisco Morales allowed six runs over 3.2 innings, allowing three walks and striking out six in the losing effort. Austin Ross, Oscar Marcelino and Jose Jimenez combined to throw 4.1 innings of scoreless relief, combining to strike out 11 batters and walk just two.

Ben Aklinski hit his 4th home run of the season, going 1 for 5. It was his 2nd home run against the Scrappers this season. The Cutters have hit six of their 19 home runs against Mahoning Valley this season.

The Cutters fall to 3-6 through the first nine meetings with the Scrapper. Williamsport and Mahoning Valley will square off six more times this season, all in Williamsport in the month of August.
