11th-Round LHP Kacey Murphy Joins CT Tigers

The Connecticut Tigers, Class A Short Season affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, received left-handed pitcher Kacey Murphy from Gulf Coast League Tigers East (Rookie Level) on Wednesday. The former University of Arkansas pitcher will wear uniform #45 for the CT Tigers.
In four appearances and two starts with GCL Tigers East, Murphy struck out seven batters during eight scoreless innings with a .179 opponent batting average. The six-foot, 190-pound southpaw earned his first pro win on July 19 in two perfect innings against GCL Tigers West.
