Cutters Complete The Comeback

Williamsport Crosscutters News Release


Down 4-0 going into the 5th inning, the Crosscutters storm back, taking their first lead of the night in the top of the 9th inning, to win 9-6 over Vermont. Jhordany Mezquita got the start for Williamsport, allowing three runs on one hit and four walks in 0.2 innings.

The Cutters bullpen combined to throw 8.1 innings, allowing three runs on six hits, while striking out seven and not allowing a walk. Tyler Carr went a perfect inning in the 8th inning to get the win. Keylan Killgore tossed a perfect 9th to get the save.

Danny Mayer drilled a two-run homer in the Cutters 4-run 5th inning, sparking the Cutters rally.

Williamsport plated four runs in the top of the 9th inning, taking their first lead in the process.

Ben Pelletier recorded his second, 3-hit game of the season as the Crosscutters pounded out a season-high

16 hits. Every Crosscutters starter recorded at least one base hit in the win.

First Cutters win this season when trailing after 8 innings.
