The Williamsport Crosscutters won their third road game of the season on Thursday night, sinking the Lowell Spinners 3-1 at LeLacheur Park.

After an early pitching duel led to three scoreless innings, the Cutters finally managed a run in the top of the fourth. Cody Asche reached on an error at first, allowing Brock Stassi to score from second for a 1-0 lead.

The score stayed 1-0 all the way until the bottom of the seventh, when Lowell's Jason Thompson hit a long home run to right off Cutters reliever Hector Neris. The round-tripper tied the game at 1-1.

The Cutters answered in the top of the eighth, as Aaron Altherr singled, stole two bases, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Harold Martinez for a 2-1 lead. They tacked on another run in the top of the ninth on a two-out RBI single by Altherr, scoring Francisco Diaz to extend the lead to 3-1.

Cutters reliever Juary Gomez earned his third save of the season by throwing two shutout innings to close it out.

These two teams will play one more here at 7:05pm on July 15. Every Cutters matchup can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com
