ALTOONA, PA - Radhames Liz shut down the Curve bats with 7.0 shutout innings as the Bowie Baysox won the middle game of their three game series with the Curve 3-0 Sunday night at Blair County Ballpark.

Liz (3-1), a seven year veteran, scattered seven hits and struck out seven batters in his third win in four Double-A starts this season.

Mike Crotta (4-4) picked up the loss despite a strong effort tossing 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts for the Curve.

Bowie broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the top of the sixth highlighted by an Adam Donachie RBI double. Donachie finished the night 2-for-2 with two doubles and an RBI reaching base in all four at-bats for the Baysox.

Pirates' No. 1 prospect Pedro Alvarez had a 2-for-4 night at the plate and Jim Negrych went 1-for-4 with a double for Altoona.

Altoona (28-54) concludes the three game series with Bowie Monday night at BCB. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with radio coverage starting at 6:35 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Curve Radio Network. Monday's probable starters are southpaw Daniel Moskos (4-7, 3.96) for Altoona and RHP John Mariotti (2-5, 2.87) for the Baysox (46-37).

Monday night offers one of the Curve's most unique promotions with Awful Night returning the Blair County Ballpark for the seventh time. Great seats are still available for Monday's contest.
