Curve at Akron, Postponed by Rain
May 21, 2004 - Eastern League (EL1)
Akron RubberDucks News Release
(AKRON, OH) -- Friday night's scheduled game between the Altoona Curve and Akron Aeros at Canal Park has been postponed due to rain.
Heavy storms hit the Summit County region late Friday afternoon and did not let up until shortly game time. However, the amount of standing water left on the warning tracks and the dugouts made it impractical to play.
The two clubs will make the game up as part of a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 6:05 p.m. In the first game, the Curve sends right-hander Bryan Bullington (2-1, 3.51) against Aeros' righty Francisco Cruceta (3-3, 3.83). The nightcap will feature right-handers Ian Snell (3-3, 3.16) of Altoona and Jeremy Guthrie (3-1, 4.63) of Akron.
Both games are scheduled for seven innings as part of a minor league doubleheader.
