Altoona Curve News Release

CURVE, Pa. - Jackson Wolf struck out six batters in his second start in Altoona, but the Curve dropped a rain-shortened affair to the Erie SeaWolves, 4-1, on Saturday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field.

The game was called after the sixth inning due to rain. Wolf, who was acquired by the Pirates at the trade deadline, allowed four runs on five hits in 3.1 innings with three walks. He allowed a three-run home run to Julio Rodriguez in the fourth inning that stood to be the difference in the series-clinching win for Erie.

Altoona scratched a run across in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI-single from Jacob Gonzalez off reliever Tim Naughton. Brant Hurter tossed 4.0 scoreless innings in the start for Erie with four strikeouts. Matt Fraizer had two hits for the Curve in the loss.

Altoona concludes their 12-game homestand with the Erie SeaWolves, Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, with a Sunday night 6:00 p.m. start. Altoona is yet to announce its starter, with LHP Lael Lockhart taking the ball for Erie.
