Senators Fend off RubberDucks 5-4

The Harrisburg Senators squeaked by the Akron RubberDucks 5-4 Saturday night at FNB Field in front of 7,469 fans. The Senators took an early 4-0 lead, but then had to hold on while Akron rallied to close to within one. Israel Pineda smacked a three-run home run to give the Senators a 4-0 lead. Dustin Saenz pitched his third straight solid game and earned the win. Harrisburg has taken four of five from the RubberDucks. The Sens have won three consecutive series.

The Big Play

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Senators were leading 1-0 with runners at first and second and Israel Pineda at the plate. Pineda hit the first pitch he saw out of the ballpark to give the Sens a 4-0 lead.

On Capitol Hill

Dustin Saenz pitched six solid innings to earn his third straight win. He allowed three runs on six hits while striking out two and walking one. He faced 23 batters in his six innings... Tyler Schoff followed and went 1.2 innings allowing a run on two hits... Nash Walters allowed an inherited runner to score on a double, but retired the final four batters to earn his third save with the Senators.

With the Gavel

Pineda drove in three with his first home run with the Sens this season... Brady House had two hits and his first RBI with the Senators... Jacob Young had a double extending his hit streak to nine games.

Akron leads the season series 9-8 with one game remaining, tomorrow... The time of the game was 2:18... The attendance was 7,469 (14th all-time for a Senators game).
