Washington Wild Things News Release
Avon, OH - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, allowed the Lake Erie Crushers to sweep the series when they lost 3-0 at All Pro Freight Stadium Thursday night.
Despite a strong outing, Jason Neitz took the loss for the Washington Wild Things in their 3-0 defeat to the Lake Erie Crushers. Neitz allowed three runs on eight hits in 6.2 innings of work.
The Crushers notched two runs the second inning, followed by a solo home run in the fourth inning. Washington's Ryan Groth stole a homer from Tyler Johnson by stopping Johnson's hit before it went over the fence. Arden McWilliams, however, was far luckier smacking a solo shot over the scoreboard in right center field, giving the Crushers a three run lead.
The Wild Things will face the Midwest Sliders in Ypsilanti, MI Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Air time on WJPA 95.3 F.M. is 6:55 p.m. The Wild Things return to CONSOL Energy Park September 1st through 6th to finish the 2009 season. Tickets for the final home stand are available at the CONSOL Energy Park box office.
