
Crushers shut out Grizzlies

AVON, Ohio- The Gateway Grizzlies managed just five hits Friday night, falling 2-0 to the Lake Erie Crushers in the opener of a three-game series at All Pro Freight Stadium.
Jodam Rivera hit a one-out solo home run in the first inning Friday to put the Crushers (8-11) up 1-0. Rivera added an RBI single in the fifth inning for the 2-0 final.
Logan Parker was the only Grizzlies player with more than a hit. Parker singled in the sixth inning and again in the top of the ninth to finish 2 for 3. He also walked in the game. Bobby Burk, Charlie Lisk and Justin Baum had the other hits Friday night for the Grizzlies.
Mark Brackman (1-2) tossed the complete game in the losing effort. Brackman gave up the two runs on just four hits. He struck out six.
The Grizzlies (12-8) and Crushers continue the three-game series Saturday night in Avon. First pitch is slated for 6:05 pm, central time.
