(Avon OH: July 4, 2016) - The Lake Erie Crushers announced today that 4 members of the 2016 squad have been selected to participate in the Frontier League All-Star game. Catcher/First Baseman Jose Barraza will be joined by 3 Pitchers, Steve Hagen, Mike Devine and Chandler Jagodzinski to represent the Eastern Division in the All-Star game Wednesday, July 13th in Florence, Kentucky.

Jose Barraza is in his 2nd year with the Crushers and sports a .287 batting average with 3 home runs and 24 RBI's. He has split time this season behind the plate, at first base, and as the designated hitter. This will be his first All-Star appearance in the Frontier League.

Starting Pitcher Steve Hagen leads the Frontier league in earned run average with a sterling one-point-three-two ERA. In 47 innings this season, he has struck out 41 batters, walked only nine and gave up a mere seven earned runs.

Mike Devine started the season in the bullpen, and has moved into the starting rotation. Devine is 5 and 2 this season with a 2.68 earned run average. He has struck out 38 batters in 40 innings, and saved 3 games.

Reliever Chandler Jagodzinski has appeared in 28 games for the Crushers this season, posting a two-point-two five earned run average. In 32 innings he has struck out 33 hitters and walked only four. Jagodzinski was recently installed as the Crushers Closer by new Manager Cameron Roth.

The Frontier League All-Star game will take place Wednesday, July 13th at 7:05 PM in Florence, Kentucky home of the Florence Freedom. The game will be proceeded by the league's Home Run Derby contest on Tuesday, July 12th.
