SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, won a pitcher's duel for the second straight night, taking the rubber game of the series over the Schaumburg Boomers 3-1 on Sunday night at Boomers Stadium.

The Belters opened the scoring in the second inning with a solo home run to the left field party deck by Dillon Haupt.

Normal tacked on a run in the seventh inning when Nolan Meadows doubled to left center, went to third on a fielder's choice and scored on a sacrifice fly to deep right field by Craig Lepre.

The Boomers threatened with two outs in the ninth inning with a triple off the right center wall by Paul Kronenfeld and an RBI double by Mikal Hall off reliever Francisco Carillo for the final tally.
