Syracuse Crunch News Release

Syracuse, NY - Albany's Zac Dalpe recorded a hat trick in just his fourth professional game, helping his club to a 5-2 win over the Syracuse Crunch tonight at the War Memorial at Oncenter.

Dalpe got the scoring started when he beat Kevin Lalande on the rebound of a Jiri Tlusty shot seven and a half minutes into the game.

The Crunch tied the contest just four minutes later on the power play when Tom Sestito slid the puck past Justin Peters on a second effort bid from the slot to make it 1-1.

Dalpe put the River Rats back up and notched his second of the contest with 3:41 left in the first frame after he found the puck and put it past Lalande for the 2-1 Albany lead.

Albany extended its lead to 3-1 at the 9:20 mark of the second when Nick Dodge came in on a 2-on-1 and sniped a shot just inside the right post.

The Crunch got back to within one just under four minutes into the third period when Tomas Kana grabbed the puck in the corner, walked in along the goal line untouched and blistered a snapshot top shelf over Peters' left shoulder to cut it to 3-2.

Albany stole the momentum back just 34 seconds later when Chris Terry slid a perfect centering feed out to a wide open Dalpe in the slot, who slammed it home for the hat trick.

Casey Borer put the nail in the Crunch's coffin just 1:22 later when he found the puck sitting on the goal line after Steven Goertzen's initial shot and jammed it into the net to put Albany up 5-2.
