Admirals Break Quarter-Million Dollar Raised Mark in Tenth Annual MDA Jersey Auction

NORFOLK, Va. - Thanks to the generosity of its fans, the Norfolk Admirals hockey club was able to raise $33,990 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Saturday night in its tenth annual MDA Jersey Auction, presented by PAPCO. Over the past ten seasons, the Admirals have been able to raise $274,950 for MDA through the annual jersey auction.

Tonight, the Admirals donned one-of-a-kind jerseys during their game against the Worcester Sharks. Immediately following the game, a live auction took place on the ice with the jerseys sold right off the players' backs. The highest winning bid went for a pair of Dustin Tokarski game-worn jerseys, which sold for $5,500 each. In total, 29 jerseys, a team-autographed stick and a team-autographed blanket were auctioned to benefit the MDA.

The Admirals will play their final three road games of the 2009-10 regular season next weekend as they visit Albany on Friday, Binghamton on Saturday and Hershey on Sunday.

The Admirals will conclude their 2009-10 regular season with a three-game homestand beginning Wednesday, April 7 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
