GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Williamsport returned home after a four game road trip Monday evening to face Pinckney Division rival Jamestown at Historic Bowman Field and ended its four game losing streak with a 2-1 win in 11 innings.

The Jammers scored an unearned run in the top of the fourth off Cutters starter Korey Noles (0-0, 0.00) who was making his first start of the 2009 season.

Jammers SS Chris Wade hit a dribbler back to Noles who threw the ball to first base which looked like it would be a routine play. Unfortunately, 1B Darin Ruf, making his first start at first base as a Crosscutter, lost the ball in the sun and the ball rolled all the way to the Cutters bullpen. Wade, realizing the ball did not go out of play, hustled to third on the two-base error. He then scored during the next at-bat when 3B Chase Austin hit an RBI groundout to Cutters SS Jeremy Barnes.

Williamsport threatened numerous times throughout the game however, they continued to struggle hitting with runners in scoring position going 0 for 8 in that category while leaving 13 runners on-base.

In the bottom of the 8th CF Leandro Castro blasted his 2nd home run of the season, a solo shot to left to tie the game at one.

Williamsport put two more runners on in the 8th with walks but were not able to get the clutch base hit to take the lead.

Neither team would score in the 9th forcing the game into extra innings.

Relief pitcher Austin Hyatt (2-0, 0.38) relieved Spencer Arroyo (2-0, 2.00) in the 10th and pitched two scoreless innings of baseball allowing one hit while striking out three Jammers.

The Cutters pitching staff was solid on the night as starter Noles went 6 innings allowing an unearned run on one hit while striking out five and Arroyo pitched three innings of scoreless ball allowing three hits and striking out three. Hyatt was the pitcher of record winning his second of the season while lowering his ERA to 0.38.

The Cutters scored the game winner in the bottom of the 11th inning on an Alan Schoenberger sacrifice fly to center that scored pinch runner Stephen Batts with the game winning run.

Ruf started the inning with a lead-off walk. DH Francisco Murillo squared around and bunted a sharp groundball back to the Jammers pitcher who could not field it cleanly, giving the Cutters runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out.

RF Micheal Dabbs laid down a two strike sacrifice bunt moving pinch runner Batts to 3rd and Murillo to 2nd. The Jammers intentionally walked LF Carl Uhl to set-up the inning ending double-play however; their tactics did not work as Schoenberger drove a fly ball deep enough to center that allowed Batts to score standing up.

With the victory and Mahoning Valley's loss at Batavia the Cutters pull within a game of the first place Scrappers in the Pinckney Division.
