Crosscutters beat Spikes 6-5

The Williamsport Crosscutters topped the State College Spikes on Saturday night 6-5 at Bowman Field.

Jacob Diekman (1-3) picked up his first win of the season for the Cutters going 6 innings allowing just two runs on three hits. BJ Rosenberg pitched the 8th and 9th innings allowing one run in the final frame while picking up his team-leading 8th save.

OF D'Arby Myers had three hits and OF Steve Susdorf drove in three Cutters runs. 2B Daniel Hargrave connected for his 4th homer of the season and 3B Cody Overbeck drove in two runs to bring his league-leading RBI total to 44.

The Cutters now have an 8-3 record in the '08 SawBuck Series against the Spikes and play the final game of the season against each other Sunday night at State College.
