Columbus Crew SC News Release

COLUMBUS - The Columbus Crew (2-0-0, 6 points) heads to the Pacific Northwest as it faces Seattle Sounders FC (2-1-0, 6 points) at CenturyLink Field on Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 p.m. ET. Time Warner Cable SportsChannel is set to televise the game, with Dwight Burgess and Chris Doran on the call. Neil Sika is set to describe the action for 95.5 The Game, with Carlos Cordova and Juan Valladares behind the microphone for La Mega 103.1 FM.

Although the team is on the road this weekend, fans in Columbus can catch the Saturday night action at Crew Stadium as the Crew is again hosting a free watch party for its fans in the stadium's Upper 90 Club. Gate 4 opens at 9:30 p.m. ET with kickoff at 10:00 p.m. ET. Light snacks are set to be provided with soda and drinks available for purchase.

The Crew is coming off a 2-1 victory against Philadelphia on March 22, which marked the first time the team started a season with two consecutive wins in club history. The win came from two goals from midfielder Bernardo Anor, who was later named MLS Player of the Week in Week 3. Columbus is looking for its first pair of back-to-back road wins since 2010 and moreover looking to start the season 2-0-0 on the road for the first time since the 2003 campaign.

After a pair of Eastern Conference tilts to open the year, Saturday's match with Seattle Sounders FC marks the first Western Conference test in 2014. The last time the Crew traveled to CenturyLink Field in Seattle, the club defeated Sounders FC 2-0 on May 23, 2012, marking the Black & Gold's first win over Seattle since the opposing club joined MLS in 2009. The Crew looks to close the all-time series gap with the Sounders, who holds a 4-1-3 advantage in the eight prior regular-season meetings all-time.

The match also marks the first time Seattle Sounders FC defender Chad Marshall faces the Crew since being traded in December. Marshall played 22,220 minutes, 253 matches and 10 seasons in Columbus, the most by a single player in Crew history.
