Coyotes Recall Lessio, Assign Schlemko to Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Lucas Lessio and assigned defenseman David Schlemko to the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 21-year-old Lessio has registered 5-3-8 and 14 penalty minutes (PIM) in 14 games with the Pirates this season. The 6-foot-1, 212-pound native of Maple, Ontario is tied for the team lead in goals and is third in points. Lessio appeared in three games with the Coyotes in 2013-14 and totaled 29-25-54 in 69 games with Portland. He was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the second round (56th overall) in the 2011 Entry Draft.

The 27-year-old Schlemko has recorded 0-1-1 in seven games with the Coyotes this season. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta has collected 8-39-47 and 72 PIM in 194 career NHL games. He originally signed with the Coyotes as a free agent on July 19, 2007.
