San Antonio Rampage News Release
GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Anders Eriksson and forward Joel Perrault from their conditioning assignments with the Club's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.
Eriksson, 35, has recorded three assists in 12 games for the Coyotes this season. He has also registered 1-3-4 in 10 games with San Antonio. Eriksson has appeared in 564 career NHL games with Detroit, Chicago, Florida, Toronto, Columbus, Calgary and the Coyotes, recording 22-152-174 and 242 penalty minutes (PIM) over parts of 12 NHL seasons. He was a member of the 1998 Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings and has registered six assists and 18 PIM in 36 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, including two games with Calgary during the 2009 Playoffs. Eriksson, who was originally selected by Detroit in the first round (22nd overall) of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, signed with the Coyotes as a free agent on Dec. 21, 2009.
Perrault, 26, has appeared in one game for the Coyotes this season and has also recorded 12-12-24 and 26 PIM in 29 games for San Antonio. Last year, he collected 2-1-3 in seven games with the Coyotes and 18-31-49 in 46 games with the Rampage to finish 3rd on the team in scoring. In 2007-08, Perrault finished with 7-10-17 and 48 PIM in 49 games for the Coyotes, setting career-highs in games played, goals, assists, points, penalty minutes, power play goals (3) and game-winning goals (2). Prior to his stint with the Coyotes that season, Perrault recorded 14-13-27 and 36 PIM in 28 games with San Antonio and was named to the 2008 AHL All-Star Game but was unable to play due to his recall. Perrault, who has recorded 11-14-25 and 68 PIM in 87 career NHL games with Phoenix and St. Louis, was originally drafted by Anaheim in the 5th round (137th overall) of the 2001 Entry Draft.
The Coyotes return to action at 7 p.m. tomorrow when they host the St. Louis Blues at Jobing.com Arena. For more information about the Coyotes or to purchase tickets to an upcoming home game, visit www.phoenixcoyotes.com or call 480-563-PUCK (7825).
