Coyotes Assign Samuelsson and Reese to Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned forward Henrik Samuelsson and defenseman Dylan Reese to the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 21-year-old Samuelsson has appeared in two games with the Coyotes this season. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania skated in 9:33 in his NHL debut against the New York Rangers on Feb. 26. Samuelsson has registered 10-15-25 and 38 penalty minutes (PIM) in 50 games with the Pirates this season. He was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (27th overall) in the 2012 Entry Draft.

The 30-year-old Reese has played in one game with the Coyotes this season. The 6-foot, 201-pound native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has recorded 6-19-25 with a plus-11 rating in 51 games with Portland. Reese was originally drafted by the Rangers in the seventh round (209th overall) in the 2003 Entry Draft.
