Binghamton Senators News Release

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators rallied in the third period but ultimately fell short, losing 4-3 in overtime to the Albany Devils. Mike Sislo scored 33 seconds into the overtime frame to give the hosts the victory.

Cole Schneider opened the scoring 2:40 into the first period after putting home a rebound following an initial save by Albany Devils' goaltender Scott Wedgewood for his 18th goal of the year. Paul Thompson tied up the game at the 14:11 minute mark of the first after poking home a loose puck over Peter Mannino. Albany took the lead just over three minutes later when Darcy Zajac tipped in an initial shot from Raman Hrabarenka for his fifth goal of the year. The teams went to the first intermission with Albany leading the score 2-1 and shots 13-8.

The second period was looking to end with no changes in scoring until Tim Sestito pushed home his eighth of the season during the Devils' power play with only three seconds remaining putting Albany up 3-1 heading into the final period.

The B-Sens made a comeback in the third period with two goals to force overtime. The first goal came from Buddy Robinson's redirect off Chris Wideman's shot from the blue line at the 6:10 mark. Carter Camper tied the game up just seconds after a five minute B-Sens power play expired off a feed from Derek Grant behind the Devils' net with less than three minutes to play.

With the B-Sens on a residual penalty kill from the end of the third period, Sislo beat Mannino from the left faceoff circle dot just 33 seconds into the overtime giving Albany the 4-3 win.

Mannino finished with 31 saves on 35 shots while Wedgewood had 24 saves for the win.

The B-Sens head to Norfolk for Wednesday and Friday matchups against the Admirals at 7:15p.m. and 7:30p.m., respectively, before returning for their next home game Sunday, March 8, against the Syracuse Crunch.
