Coyotes Assign Gormley to Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned defenseman Brandon Gormley to the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 22-year-old Gormley has recorded 1-0-1 and four penalty minutes (PIM) in six games with the Coyotes this season. The 6-foot-2, 196-pound native of Murray River, Prince Edward Island has also registered 1-2-3 and six PIM in six games with the Pirates.

Gormley was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (13th overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft.
