The Western Hockey League (WHL) announced today that forward Ty Coupland has been named Rookie of the Week.
The North Vancouver, B.C. product played in three games over the first portion of the Broncos B.C. road swing, earning five points in that stretch. While he was held pointless on Wednesday in Prince George, Coupland caught fire on Friday and Saturday scoring twice in Vancouver to go along with an assist, and then scoring again in Victoria on Saturday, adding one more assist for good measure.
Coupland, a 2022 second-round-pick of the Broncos, is now up to three goals and four assists for seven points in seven games this season. As a 2007-born forward, Coupland is eligible for the 2025 NHL Draft.
The Broncos are back in action on Tuesday when they visit the Kamloops Blazers.
