Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Halloween will come early, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Cincinnati Cyclones during the 8th Annual Orange Ice Game, presented by The CW7 and WKFR. On the season, the K-Wings are 1-0-0-0 versus the Cyclones.

In the previous seven years of this yearly classic, the K-Wings are 2-5-0-0; however, Kalamazoo did earn their first win since 2005 last year with a 3-2 overtime victory over Cincinnati. After tonight, the K-Wings, who played their previous two games away from Wings Stadium, will hit the road again for two more contests.

Tonight will be the fourth game of a five-game season-opening road trip for the Cyclones, who are 1-2-0-0, which includes a loss opening night to Kalamazoo. The Cyclones will wrap up the trip next Friday in Chicago and then finally have their home opener a week from tonight against the Express.

Trick-or-Treat

This evening, the K-Wings will host the Cincinnati Cyclones during the 8th Annual Orange Ice Game, presented by The CW7 & WKFR. Kalamazoo is 2-5-0-0 on pumpkin colored ice and 1-1-0-0 since joining the ECHL, with the victory occurring last season against Cincinnati.

Strong Returns

After starting the season in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves, forward Dean Strong returned to the K-Wings lineup last night. Strong had three assists in five games with the Wolves.

Good Things Come in Threes

Forward Patrick Asselin enters tonight on a three-game point streak. Asselin's three-game streak ties him with Brandon Svendsen (10/15/11-10/22/11) for the longest K-Wings' point streak this season.

A Quick Trip Home

Playing their previous two games on the road, Kalamazoo returns to Wings Stadium. After tonight, the K-Wings will return to the road for two more games next weekend before coming home to Wings Stadium to commence a three-game home stand.
