Countdown to Face-Off: Kalamazoo at Toledo
October 13, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
For the second straight night, the Kalamazoo Wings will serve as a an opening night opponent for an ECHL club, as the K-Wings head to the Huntington Center to face the Toledo Walleye. Last season, the K-Wings went 9-4-0-1 versus Toledo, including an impressive 6-0-0-0 at the Huntington Center.
After a stalemate yesterday in the first period, the K-Wings exploded for four goals in the middle frame to secure a 4-1 opening night victory over the Fort Wayne Komets. Tonight concludes a brief two-game road swing for the K-Wings, who will return to Wings Stadium next Friday to battle the Komets.
Idle last night, the Walleye are set to commence the 2012-13 season. Struggling at home to end last season, Toledo enters this evening looking to snap a six-game home winless (0-5-0-1) streak. Tonight is the first of two home games for the Walleye, who will start a five-game road swing next Saturday.
