Coughlin to DL, Davis Promoted

MOBILE, Ala. (July 15) - Prior to tonight's contest between the Mobile BayBears and Birmingham Barons at Hank Aaron Stadium, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the BayBears have made the following roster moves. C/IF Sean Coughlin has been placed on the 7-day DL with a broken hamate bone. Coughlin injured himself swinging the bat during a plate appearance at the Southern League All-Star Game on Monday. He was hitting .304 with the BayBears this season to go with 7 home runs and 20 RBI in 50 games. To replace Coughlin, C Chris Davis has been called up from Single-A South Bend. Davis was hitting .174 with the Silver Hawks in 37 games. He batted .282 at Missoula last year after getting drafted out of the University of Central Arkansas. The BayBears now have 24 active players with 2 on the disabled list.
