
Cougars Secure Thrilling 3-2 Victory Over Edmonton Oil Kings in Pre-Season Showdown

GRANDE CACHE, AB - The Prince George Cougars completed their final pre-season game with 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Sunday afternoon at the Grande Cache Recreational Centre in Grande Cache, AB
Edmonton started the scoring at 1:13 getting a goal from Adam Jecho. Jecho got a pass in front and put it by Josh Ravensbergen to make it 1-0. Ondrej Becher got the Cougars all square after forcing a turnover and put the puck in the open cage shorthanded at 8:34. The Cougars outshot Edmonton 12-9 in the opening period.
The Cougars took the lead in the second, and it was Becher again finding the back of the net. The Czechian forward wristed one by Kobly Hay on the power-play at 10:46. Edmonton answered immediately, with Adam Jecho potting his second of the afternoon at 11:13. The game remained tied at two after 40 minutes.
After chances on both sides, Carlin Dezainde broke the deadlock. At 15:18 on the penalty kill, the pride of Calgary, AB came racing up the left wing on a 2 on 1 and rifled one past Kolby Hay to give the Cougars the lead. Edmonton then pulled the goalie, however, were unable to tie the game as the Cougars held on for a 3-2 victory in Grande Cache.
