Cougars Return Favor against Snappers

The Kane County Cougars gave the Beloit Snappers a taste of their own medicine Thursday night as they defeated the Snappers in a walk off 5-4 at Elfstrom Stadium.

The Snappers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning as Michael Gonzales connected on his second home run of the season and in back-to-back nights. The Snappers would eventually take a 2-0 lead until the Cougars scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth frame.

The Snappers put up single runs in the seventh and eighth innings to take a 4-2 lead into the ninth where Myrio Richard doubled to left field to clear the bases to win the game 5-4.

The "Brodie Trophy Player of the Game" goes to shortstop Brian Dozier whoe went 3-5 with a run scored in the contest.

Brad Stillings will take on the Cougars in the rubber game tonight at Elfstrom Stadium with game time scheduled for 6:30PM. The Snappers will start a six game home stand starting this coming Saturday at 4:00PM against the Clinton Lumberkings.
