Kane County Cougars News Release
GENEVA, IL - Enjoy an affordable and fun holiday weekend with the Cougars starting Friday, May 22 and continuing through Memorial Day on Monday, May 25. Tickets for the holiday weekend are going quickly, and fans are encouraged to make plans as soon as possible for best available seating. Fans can contact the Cougars' box office at (630) 232-8811 or by visiting www.kccougars.com. Here's a rundown of what's taking place at Elfstrom Stadium each day during the holiday weekend.
Friday 5/22 -- Gametime 6:30 p.m., gates open at 5:30 p.m.
On Friday, May 22, we'll be hosting our popular All-Scout Campout. Open to EVERY kind of scout, including Brownies, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the Friday campout is an awesome opportunity to enjoy an evening of baseball while pitching a tent right here at Elfstrom Stadium! Scouts, make your reservations today by visiting www.cougarsscouts.com.
In addition to the campout, we'll feature in-game entertainment from Myron Noodleman, a dazzling post-game fireworks show and chance to run the bases.
Saturday 5/23 - Gametime 6 p.m., gates open at 4 p.m.
The West Michigan Whitecaps, a farm team of the Detroit Tigers, come to town starting Saturday for a three-game series. The Whitecaps' roster features local talent in Casey Crosby, who pitched at nearby Kaneland High School and is currently a standout pitcher for West Michigan. Saturday's entertainment is loaded from start to finish as we invite all fans to take part in a free pre-game autograph session with Cougars players. Between innings, Birdzerk will be in the house, performing his hilarious routine as he interacts with players and umpires. Don't leave after the final out as we turn out the lights for a fantastic fireworks display. After the grand finale, all fans are allowed onto the field to run the bases.
Sunday 5/24 - Gametime 6 p.m., gates open at 4 p.m.
Does it really feel like a normal Sunday evening? With the impending holiday, fans will be in the mood for a great night of family fun as we continue the extended holiday weekend. Sunday's action includes our popular Family Campout as fans can enjoy the great outdoors like they never have before. Participating campers can pitch a tent, stay for the game, watch a movie on the field afterwards and camp out at the ballpark before enjoying a hot breakfast the following morning.
For both campers and non-campers, a complete evening of great entertainment awaits as we'll hold a pre-game autograph session with Cougars players. The Zooperstars, a highly-popular inflatable mascot troupe, will fill the ballpark with laughs as zany characters such as Clammy Sosa and Cow Ripken, Jr. hit the field between innings. Fans might remember seeing the Zooperstars during last year's nationally-televised reality show "America's Got Talent".
Afterwards, we'll light up the sky for an impressive patriotic-themed fireworks display and fans can run the bases following the show.
Monday 5/25 - Gametime 1 p.m., gates open at 11 a.m.
Celebrate the Memorial Day holiday with some Cougars baseball that afternoon. The patriotic festivities kick off with a pre-game autograph session, open to all fans. Have you ever wanted to touch the same bases as the players do? After the game, you'll get your chance when we invite all fans to run the bases.
To order tickets, fans can contact the Cougars' box office at (630) 232-8811 or visit www.kccougars.com.
