LANSING, Mich. - Stephen Chapman went 3-for-4 with a pair of two-run homers and three stolen bases, sending the Dayton Dragons (12-25) to an 11-2 rout of the host Lansing Lugnuts (11-24) on Monday night at Oldsmobile Park.

Chapman entered the ballgame batting just .176 in eight games with Dayton, but tripled his home run total with blasts in the fourth inning off of Lansing starter Ryan Koch (0-4) and in the ninth inning off of reliever Yorman Mayora. In between, he reached on an infield single and a walk and showed off his burglary skills on the basepaths, scoring four runs in all.

Humberto Sosa added his first home run of the season for Dayton, a solo shot, helping Dragons starter Matt Fairel (2-2) earn the easy victory.

Fairel allowed two runs on five hits in six innings, striking out four batsmen.

Justin McClanahan's RBI double in the fourth and Brian Van Kirk's solo home run in the sixth provided Lansing's only offensive output.

Having lost the first three games in the series to the Dragons, the Lugnuts look to avoid the series sweep on Tuesday at 10:35 a.m., the second of two School Days scheduled at Oldsmobile Park. Ace right-hander Henderson Alvarez (4-3, 3.32) starts for Lansing against Dayton right-hander Josh Ravin (1-4, 5.19).
