Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs, have announced that pitcher Justin Amlung has been promoted to Class-A Advanced Daytona while pitcher Josh Davis has re-joined the Cougars from the Cubs' extended spring training complex in Mesa. Today's roster move maintains an active squad of 25 players as the Cougars continue a homestand this evening against Clinton. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. Entering play tonight, the Cougars' magic number is 4 to clinch the first half Western Division championship and 3 to clinch a first half playoff spot.

Amlung (12th round, 2012) was 4-0 with a 1.54 ERA this season and pitched effectively in relief and most recently, as a starter. Davis (Non-drafted free agent, 2013) pitched for the Cougars earlier this season, making 5 appearances and posting a 4.35 ERA.
