(Burlington-IA)- The Burlington Bees won their third straight game after defeating the Quad Cities River Bandits 2-1 in game two of a three game series at Community Field on Thursday night.
Kody Eaves got the scoring started for the Bees with a solo home run to right to lead off the bottom of the first, his fifth of the season, putting the Bees on top 1-0.
Starters Harrison Cooney and Michael Felix traded scoreless innings from the second inning on until the River Bandits scratched a run across on a groundout from Brian Holberton scoring Tanner Mathis tying the game at one.
Angel Rosa reached second base on a fielding error and then was moved to third base on a sacrifice bunt. Rosa then came home to score on a wild pitch, putting the Bees ahead 2-1.
Bees closer Alan Busenitz (8) worked 1-2-3 in the ninth as the Bees held on for the 2-1 win, their third win in a row.
Reliever Trevor Foss (2-4) earned the win while Tyler Brunnemann (0-2) was charged with the loss.
