Cougars Feeling the Northern Spirit

PRINCE GEORGE, BC- The Prince George Cougars have announced that 50% of all proceeds raised in the upcoming "Brad May & Friends Hockey Challenge" will be delegated to the Spirit of the North Heath Care Foundation for Pediatric Unit renovations.

" The Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation is extremely pleased with this announcement. We are ecstatic to hear that the Prince George Cougars have chose to donate a portion of all funds raised from the 'Brad May & Friends Hockey Challenge' to Pediatric Unit renovations at PGRH", says Fund Development Officer, David Wharrie. "Once again, this illustrates the Cougars commitment to youth and health care improvement in the PGRH referral area", finishes Wharrie.

The "Brad May & Friends Hockey Challenge", set to commence December 14th at the Multiplex, will feature 30 NHL players suiting up against one another, with 25% of the proceeds going to benefit the Canuck Place Children's Hospice, 50% to the Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation, and the remaining 25% to the Prince George Hospice Society.

"As PGRH is the primary referral centre for northern B.C., we felt that our contributions would go on to help benefit so many deserving individuals", states Cougars Business Manager, Brandi Brodsky. "We are strong supporters for the youth in our community, and feel that is was essential to donate part of the proceeds from our charity game to the Pediatrics Unit at PGRH", continues Brodsky.

Founded in 1991, the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation was created to provide people meaningful opportunities to contribute to improving healthcare within the service area of Prince George Regional Hospital (PGRH).
