Cougars Dominate Timber Rattlers

Geneva, Illinois - The Kane County Cougars (33-34) improved to 9-2 versus the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (31-36) with a 9-4 win on Friday night at Northwestern Medicine Field.
Wisconsin struck first with a two-run homer from Jay Feliciano in the top of the second inning. In the bottom of the second, Tim Susnara belted a two-run shot to tie the game at two. The Cougars took a 4-2 lead in the third with an RBI double from Ernie De La Trinidad and an RBI knock from Yan Sanchez. The Cougars added on in the fifth on Yoel Yanqui's two-run homer. In the top of the seventh, Wisconsin cut into the lead on a bases-loaded walk by Zach Clark.
The Cougars scored a single run in their final three at-bats. Tim Sunara chipped in an RBI single. Ryan Grotjohn roped a run-scoring double and Jazz Chisholm collected an opposite field RBI double.
Jhoan Duran (3-2) earned the win for the Cougars with a season-high in strikeouts (9) and innings (5.2). Breckin Williams tossed 2.1 innings, allowing one run on one hit. Matt Brill hurled at 1-2-3 ninth.
Bowden Francis (3-4) suffered the loss, surrendering six runs in five innings. Robbie Hitt yielded two runs in two frames. Matt Hardy gave up one tally in the eighth inning.
