Worcester IceCats News Release
WORCESTER, MA - Chris Corrinet scored twice in the final four minutes of regulation to tie the game at 3-3 and secure a point for the Worcester IceCats in Sunday's game versus Hartford.
The Wolf Pack took a 2-0 advantage out of the first period on goals by Roman Lyashenko and Layne Ulmer. They held that advantage until Worcester's Sergei Varlamov netted his 21st goal of the season on the power play at 15:17 of the second.
The Pack regained a two-goal lead on Cory Larose's 20th goal at 13:16 of the third, but Corrinet's heroics forced overtime. The Massachusetts off-season resident muscled in for his third goal of the season at 16:08. He connected again to tie the game in dramatic fashion just 2:25 later.
The crowd of 6,466 at Worcester's Centrum Centre watched the Pack outshoot Worcester 6-1 in the final frame after the 'Cats held the advantage in regulation 33-14.
The 'Cats travel to Philadelphia and Norfolk this weekend before returning home to face Lowell on March 12.
