Corchado returns to pitching staff

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics, announced today that right-handed pitcher Jose Corchado has come off the disabled list. No comment has been made as to Corchado's return to the starting rotation.

Corchado, 20, was placed on the disabled list on May 9 with weakness in his right rotator cuff. Prior to his time on the DL, the right-hander went 1-3 for the Cougars with a 3.42 ERA.

The first-place Cougars (28-18) face the South Bend Silver Hawks (Arizona Diamondbacks Affiliate), currently maintaining the top slot in the Midwest League Eastern Division, this evening at 6:30 p.m., starting a four game stint over the holiday weekend. Celebrating a Military Appreciation Weekend (May 29 - 31) in honor of Memorial Day, the Cougars will have a number of special guests joining them at the ballpark, including Myron Noodleman, Zooperstars, Skydivers, BirdZerk, the Lima Lima Flying Team and Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn.
