Coon Activated, Morrissey Reassigned to Arkansas

SALT LAKE CITY (August 5, 2008) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has activated outfielder Brad Coon from the disabled list and reassigned infielder Adam Morrissey to Double-A Arkansas.

Coon, 25, was placed on the disabled list on June 10 with a right finger fracture. He has appeared in 58 games for the Bees in 2008, hitting .306 with seven doubles, one triple, two home runs, 21 RBI and 11 stolen bases. The Euclid, Ohio native was originally selected by the Angels in the 15th round of the 2005 draft.

Morrissey, 26, has appeared in 31 games for the Bees in 2008, hitting .295 with seven doubles, five home runs and 15 RBI. He hit .243 with eight doubles, five home runs and 24 RBI in 57 games for the Travelers this season. Originally signed by the Chicago Cubs in 1999, the Gosford, Australia native signed as a free agent with the Angels prior to the 2007 season.
