March 18, 2021 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
CHICAGO - Dubuque Fighting Saints forward Connor Kurth has been selected to take part in the 2021 BioSteel All-American Game. The game will take part at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan on Wednesday, April 7, and will feature the National Team Development Program Under-18s versus a team of NHL Draft-eligible talent in the USHL. It will be televised on the NHL Network.
Kurth, who is committed to the University of Minnesota, has had a sterling first season in the USHL with 29 points in 35 games. The Minnesotan started his USHL career with a hat trick in his debut against the Muskegon Lumberjacks, and most recently has points in five of his last six games.
"It's an honor to be selected to play in the All-American Game," Kurth said. "I'm excited for the opportunity to showcase my skill next month."
"It's nice to have the team represented. We have a group of young players that are all good players upon arrival and have made progress with their development," said head coach Oliver David. "Kurth has emerged as the one out in front that has found the back of the net early and it's no surprise that he has gotten recognized."
The USHL has continually churned out top-level talent. 26 players who played in the 2020 BioSteel All-American Game were selected in the 2020 NHL Draft, and 50 or more players with USHL ties were selected in the last three NHL Drafts.
