Sillinger, Johnson Selected to All-American Game

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - USA Hockey in conjunction with the United States Hockey League (USHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) announced Thursday that forward Cole Sillinger and defenseman Brent Johnson will represent the Sioux Falls Stampede on Team USHL at the 2021 BioSteel All-American game.

The annual contest is hosted in Plymouth, Mich., at USA Hockey Arena and showcases the top American-born players eligible for the 2021 NHL Draft. The National Team Development Program Under-18 squad will face off against the top 22 players from the USHL on April 7 at 8 p.m. ET and will be televised on NHL Network.

Cole Sillinger, from Phoenix, AZ, joined the Stampede on January 10 as part of a loan agreement from the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the remainder of the 2020-21 season. Sillinger has posted 34 points from 17 goals and 17 assists in 21 games played and is currently on a nine-game point streak dating back to Feb. 15. The rookie forward is currently second in team scoring.

Brent Johnson, from Dallas, TX, is a rookie defenseman committed to the University of North Dakota. Johnson has 28 points from 11 goals and 17 assists with a plus-17 rating in 40 games played this season. He was named USHL Defenseman of the Week between Dec. 29 and Jan. 3 and has three multi-goal games this season.

Several former and current Stampede players have been featured in the game, including Noah Grannan (2020), Garrett Pinoniemi (2018), Luke Toporowski (2018), Austen Swankler (2018), Jaxon Nelson (2017), Gavin Hain (2017) and Kieffer Bellows (2015).
