
Condors Sign D T.J. Fast ; Trade Gimblett to Florida for Futures

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Matt O'Dette announced today that the team has signed D T.J. Fast. Fast, whom the Condors acquired the rights to on Jan. 9th from Greenville, is expected to play tonight when the Condors host Las Vegas.
"Adding a player like T.J. immediately changes the dynamic of our team," said O'Dette. "He's a number one, number two-type of defenseman who can log a ton of minutes. We're excited to have him and seeing what he can do."
Fast, 25, played 42 games in the American Hockey League (AHL)
last season with the Hamilton Bulldogs with one goal and four assists for five points. In four professional seasons, the Calgary, Alberta native has played 113 ECHL games split between Alaska and Cincinnati. During that time, the blueliner recorded 19 goals and 40 assists for 59 points.
At the AHL level, the 2nd round selection (#60, 2005) of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings, has three goals and nine assists for 12 points in 120 games. He has yet to play at any level in 2012-13.
LAGACE RETURNS FROM ROCHESTER
Condors F Jacob Lagace returned from the Rochester Americans (AHL) and will be in the lineup tonight. He did not play in the two games he was with the Americans.
GIMBLETT TRADED TO FLORIDA FOR FUTURES
In another transaction, the Condors dealt D Tyson Gimblett to the Florida Everblades for future considerations. In 43 games, the second-year pro had one goal and two assists for three points to go along with 115 penalty minutes.
