Tonight's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls (17-23-1-5) travel down to Southern California to take on the Western Conference-leading Ontario Reign (34-11-1-2), tonight at Citizens Business Bank Arena. This is the last of ten matchups between the two teams, with the Bulls trailing in the season series 1-6-0-2. The previous time the two faced off, Taylor Nelson performed admirably, stopping 24 shots and holding the Reign 0-for-2 on the power play in a 5-2 loss. The Bulls received goals from Dean Ouellet and Peter Sivak in the third period, but it wasn't enough to overcome the early 3-0 deficit the Reign had dealt. Tonight marks the second game of the Bulls four-games-in-five-days set.

The Bulls were the product of too much time off when they faced the Las Vegas Wranglers on Wednesday night at the Cow Palace. The Wranglers extended their win streak to five games when they left the Bulls scoreless in a 5-0 shutout.

San Francisco's penalty kill continues to improve. The Bulls have now killed 60 of 68 (88.2%) power plays in the last 28 games. The return and impressive play of goaltender Thomas Heemskerk will only help bolster the Bulls defense. Marek Viedensky is also expected to return tonight. Rylan Galiardi was placed on the injured reserves, and Colin Reddin was activated. Peter Sivak will be out of tonight's game with flu-like symptoms.

Ontario will be without the league's goal and point leader, as Colton Yellow Horn was called up to the AHL's Manchester Monarchs. The Reign's top netminder, Jean-Francois Berube also received a call up to Manchester this week.

Ontario currently leads the Western Conference, two points ahead of the Alaska Aces. The Reign also hold the best record in the ECHL. San Francisco sits in eighth place with 40 points, only two points behind the Utah Grizzlies with 42.

The Bulls return home tomorrow night for a brief two-game home-stand against the Bakersfield Condors. The puck drops on Saturday at 7:15 and 2:15 on Sunday. San Francisco will wear specialty Sharks-themed teal jerseys. These commemorative jerseys will be raffled and auctioned off during and after the games. Get your tickets now at SFBulls.com.
