Condors Outlast Wranglers, Win 4-3

Las Vegas - In the first of a two-game series, the Las Vegas Wranglers fell 4-3 to the Bakersfield Condors tonight after battling back from a three-goal deficit.
Bakersfield took a 2-0 lead in the first on goals that bookended the period. Condors left wing Kyle Calder scored five minutes into the game, and a goal at 19:48 from Condors forward Peter Boyd gave the team their early lead. Boyd tallied his second goal of the night just 2:18 into the second, putting Bakersfield up 3-0 over Las Vegas. On a power play less than three minutes later, Wranglers center Chris Francis notched a goal to put Las Vegas on the board, and a goal from Wranglers left wing Josh Lunden made it a 3-2 game at the end of 40 minutes.
With five minutes left in the game, Condors defenseman Justin Pender scored Bakersfield's lone power play goal to regain a two-goal lead over Las Vegas. At 19:12, on a 6-4 man advantage, Wranglers forward Sean Wiles secured a goal to narrow the lead once again, but Bakersfield outlasted the final 48 seconds to collect the 4-3 win.
The Wranglers return home to Orleans Arena tomorrow afternoon at 2:05 p.m. to play the Condors for the last time this season. Wranglers players will wear a specialty St. Baldrick's Foundation jersey and half the team will shave their heads on the ice after the game to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer.
