Condors Month-long Blood Drive a life saving success

Bakersfield Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors and Houchin Community Blood Bank partnered up during the month of March to help save lives in Kern County. The final week alone of the Condors blood drive registered 906 donors, 175 of which were first time donors! The Condors blood drive helped increase blood donations by approximately 300 units over the previous month.
The high amount of donors the final week of the drive was thanks in part to appearances by F Bruce Graham, a live broadcast by KUZZ 107.9 and of course Colonel Claw'd and Baby Cal urging motorists to stop and donate blood.
"On behalf of Houchin Community Blood Bank, I would like to thank the Bakersfield Condors organization for hosting our annual March Blood Drive," said Houchin Blood Bank Community Relations Representative Tracy Hunter. "Our goal is always to increase the blood supply and heighten the community awareness of the need to donate life-saving blood and the Condors contributions and partnership has helped us accomplish that goal making this annual drive a huge success."
All March blood donors received a voucher for $1 admission to the Condors game on March 25. They were also entered into a drawing to win prizes; such as a Condors team-signed jersey, dropping the honorary first puck or tickets to sit in the R & D Leather Furniture "Best Seat in the House" for a game.

Tuesday, April 7:
Come and meet the Condors players at Barber Honda for a Condors Appreciation Party from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Stop by to wish your home town team good luck in the playoffs. A team-signed Condors jersey and other prizes will be raffled off at the appreciation party. Barber Honda is located at 4500 Wible Road.
Wednesday, April 8:
The "Voice of the Condors," Kevin Bartl, will appear on "There It Is! The Jake Stevens Show" at 6:40 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1230. Bartl joins the show each week to discuss everything Condors hockey. "There It Is!" airs from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Thursday, April 9:
The Condors Coach's Show will air on ESPN Radio 1230, from 5 to 6 p.m. This week's show will be prerecorded, as the team leaves early for their weekend playoff matchup against Las Vegas. The Coach's Show will feature a Condors player and Head Coach Marty Raymond, and is hosted by the "Voice of the Condors," Kevin Bartl.
Friday, April 10:
Tune into ESPN Radio 1230 or online through B2 Networks to catch every minute of the Condors battle with the Las Vegas Wranglers in Game 1 of the Pacific Division Semi-Finals, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Live streaming audio for all Condors games is also available at no cost via the website, www.bakersfieldcondors.com. Tune in 15 minutes early for Condors Countdown.
Saturday, April 11:
Game 2 against the Wranglers will be played on Saturday and can also be heard on ESPN Radio 1230 or viewed online through B2 Networks by clicking the "Watch and Listen Live" link on the Condors home page. Game 2 begins at 7:30 p.m.
THINK Program Grand-Prize Winner:
Congratulations to Tony Andrgate of Centennial Elementary School for being selected as the Condors T.H.I.N.K. Program Grand-Prize winner. Tony was randomly selected on Saturday, from the 4,000 T.H.I.N.K. participants as the winner of a brand-new computer from Diamond Technologies.
Playoff Dates:
The Condors return to the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena for games on Wednesday, April 15, Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 (if necessary). All games will start at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. Playoff tickets go on sale tomorrow, April 7 at 10 a.m.

Individual game tickets for the playoffs go on sale Tuesday, April 7 and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322-2525, online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com, or at any Ticketmaster location. The Rabobank Arena Box Office will be open Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended hours on game days.
