Bakersfield Condors News Release


Upcoming week of October 14th - October 20th:

· Thursday, October 17th - Join Cal, the Baby Condor, Condors players Jason Jackman and Andre Allard, Condors staff, and the Condors Slapshot at the Condors "Carl's Jr. Care-a-Van" as it makes its third stop of its tour. This week the Care-a-Van will be found at the Carl's Jr. on the corner of Auburn Street and Oswell Street at 3901 Oswell Street. Carl's Jr. will be handing out a coupon for a free Famous Star burger to the first fifty (50) people to attend. Also, at each stop, by making a donation to Goodwill Industries, fans will receive a free terrace level ticket for a select Condors game this season.

· Thursday, October 17th - Join the Voice of the Condors, Kevin Bartl has he hosts the Condors Coach's Show on KGEO 1230 live from the Holiday Inn Select 's Q Street Bistro at 6:00 pm. Head Coach Paul Kelly, Paul Willett, and Jordan Roach will be guests on the show. The Holiday Inn Select is located at 801 Truxtun on the corner of Q Street and Truxtun.

· Friday, October 18th - Condors players Jordan Roach and Nate Anderson will visit Columbia Elementary School located at 703 Mondavi Road to award students for their academic achievements as part of the Condors Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge (THINK) program. The Condors will be at Columbia Elementary School from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

· Saturday, October 19th - Cal, the Baby Condor, will be the Grand Marshall for the HEARTS Connections Harvest Festival parade being held at Shriners Noble Park located at the corner of P Street and Belle Terrace. The parade begins at 1:00 pm with activities lasting until 4:00 pm. HEARTS Connection is a family resource center / network serving families of special needs children.

· Saturday, October 19th - The Bakersfield Condors will host the Anchorage Aces as they take to the ice for the second game of the 2002-2003 season. The first 2,000 children will receive a Paul Willett Bobblehead sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and Cambridge Home Mortgage. The doors open at 6:00 pm with the puck drop at 7:00pm. Tickets may be purchased at the box office, open weekdays from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays, with extended hours on event dates. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location.

· Sunday, October 20th - Join the Bakersfield Condors for Fiesta Sunday as they host the San Diego. The day gets started at 1:00 pm outside of Centennial Garden in the plaza with a celebration including bounce houses, a magician, a clown, and live music as Spanish Radio Group presents Fiesta Sunday with Airwave Dave as Austin Powers. Following the game the Condors will host a Skate with the Condors. Limited skate rentals are and available for $3.00 or bring your own skates. Tickets may be purchased at the box office, open weekdays from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays, with extended hours on event dates.

Week in Review, October 7th - October 13th:

· Saturday, October 12th - The Condors opened their 5th Anniversary Season at Centennial Garden against the Fresno Falcons beating the Falcons 4-0 in front of 6,139 fans. All fans in attendance received a Condors magnet schedule, sponsored by KGEO AM 1230 and Krispy Kreme.
