Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have signed D Shaun Fisher and F Adam Naglich. The announcement was made by Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond. Sixteen players are now under contract with the Condors.

Fisher, 30, becomes the first veteran inked this season, and rejoins the Condors after spending the last three seasons in the International and United Hockey Leagues. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Detroit native was acquired by the Condors in 2005-06 to help bolster the roster before the playoffs. After skating in seven regular season games with the club, he proceeded to set team records for assists (9) and points (10) by a defenseman in a playoff season.

"A buddy of mine, Nello Ferrara, who played with me in Bloomington last year, keeps in touch with Marty (Raymond) and they ended up talking about me," said Fisher. "I was more than happy to get a call from Marty and get the chance to come back to Bakersfield. It's a beautiful place to play and has great fans. We had a good run when I was here in 2005-06, losing in the seventh game in the second round of the playoffs. We had a good team and it was a good experience."

Fisher has played 491 games in his eight professional seasons, spanning from his rookie campaign with the Florida Everblades in 2001-02 through last season with Bloomington and Muskegon in the IHL. He had a career-high 41 points (9g-32a) last season, while skating into the second round of the playoffs with the Muskegon Lumberjacks. He has accumulated 46g-187a-233pts in his pro career, which also includes 225 games of ECHL experience.

The Condors roster thus far is one of the youngest in team history, with Fisher being the only veteran and also the only player with more than 200 games or 200 points in his North American pro career. He has reached the 30-point plateau five times in his career, and has 22 points (3g-19a) in 46 career playoff games.

What Marty Raymond has to say about Fisher

"Shaun is an experienced defenseman who has been here before. He knows the town and knows about the expectations here. He will help out our young defense tremendously."

Naglich, 25, wrapped up his four-year college career last season, skating from 2005-09 with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks. He had a career-best nine goals his senior season, while finishing third on the club in points as both a junior and a senior. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Naglich hails from Las Vegas, and also played in the British Columbia Junior Hockey League with the Victoria Salsa from 2003-05. There he amassed 48 goals and 107 points in 119 career games.

Naglich also served as the Nanooks captain in his senior year.

"I thought Bakersfield would be a good fit for me," said Naglich. "Staying on the West Coast and being close to home is great, and from looking at the website and seeing the attendance numbers, the Condors have great fan support and a good hockey community."
