Rio Grande Valley Vipers News Release
HIDALGO, TEXAS - The NBA D-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that, as part of the "Pack the House" promotion during Sunday's 5:00 p.m. game against the Iowa Energy, fans will be able to purchase popcorn for $1 and hot dog combos (one hot dog, chips and one drink) for $4.50 each starting when the doors to Dodge Arena open at 4:00 and ending at the conclusion of the first quarter.
For $10, all fans can get ticket combos (one ticket plus a hot dog, chips and a drink).
"The fans of the Rio Grande Valley have given us so much support that I am happy we have another way of giving back to them," Vipers President/General Manager Brian Michael Cooper said.
There will be two shooting contests during the game.
The first shooting contest will give three fans each 30 seconds to hit a layup, free throw, three-pointer and half court shot. If anyone can accomplish the feat, the prize will be $10,000.
The second shooting contest gives each of three fans one chance to make a half court shot. If anyone succeeds, the prize will be a 50" plasma TV, courtesy of Amigo Rent to Own.
All fans at the game will also have a chance to win a 26" LCD TV through a raffle, courtesy of Amigo Rent to Own.
Additionally, the first 200 kids in attendance will receive an RGV Smiles power pack and t-shirt while the first 75 kids will receive a t- shirt courtesy of Pena Eye Institute.
The Vipers had the first sellout in franchise history on Friday with 5,679 fans. The Vipers followed that up by welcoming 5,442 fans into the building on Saturday.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased in advance through TicketMaster or by phone at 1-888-RGV-NBAD (748-6223) or 956-972-1144. Tickets can also be purchased at the Dodge Arena box office.
Fans can also get one free ticket for every four non-perishable food items they donate at either the Dodge Arena box office or any of the 17 Walgreens locations in the Rio Grande Valley as part of the "Hoops Against Hunger" Food Drive, of which BMP Radio is also a partner, benefiting the Food Bank RGV.
