Jake Brigham pitched a complete game three-hitter and the Hickory Crawdads broke open a close game with a four-run rally in the ninth inning on their way to a 6-1 win over the Lexington Legends Sunday afternoon at Applebee's Park.

The Crawdads took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. With two outs, Jared Prince singled and Jared Bolden followed with his second home run of the season.

The Legends cut it to one in the bottom of the fourth inning when Miguel Arrendell led off with his third home run of the year, but that was all the scoring Lexington could do against Brigham (2-1), who recorded his first complete game of the season while allowing three hits. He struck out four and walked one.

The score remained 2-1 until the top of the ninth. With one out, Legends reliever Zach Grimmett hit Mike Ortiz with a pitch. Guillermo Pimentel walked, and after Edwin Garcia flied to right field for the second out, Jonathan Roof reached on an infield hit to load the bases. Travis Adair then lined a double off the wall in right center field, scoring all three runners and putting Hickory in front 5-1. Joe Bonadonna's double brought Adair home with the game's final run.

Lexington starter Robby Donovan (7-6) took the loss. He gave up the first-inning homer to Bolden, but pitched six innings while allowing five hits and two runs. Donovan walked three batters and struck out six.

After a day off Monday, the Legends travel to Rome, Georgia for a four-game series against the Braves. First pitch Tuesday night is set for 7 p.m.

Attendance at Applebee's Park: 3,732
