KANNAPOLIS, NC - Justin Collup dominated the BlueClaws in game one of a doubleheader Sunday afternoon, as Lakewood fell 4-1 in a seven inning affair.

Collup (6-7) pitched a complete game, giving up just a run on six hits through seven innings. He also struck out seven.

While the Kannapolis (8-15) starter had his way with the Lakewood (15-7) bats, Jiwan James did manage to single in the sixth to extend his team-record hit streak to 24 games.

Colby Shreve (5-5) was his own worst enemy on the hill for the BlueClaws. Two of the runs he allowed scored on wild pitches, and the other two came on solo shots by Kevin Dubler and Ryan Hamme.

The BlueClaws broke up the shutout in the seventh. Jonathan Singleton doubled, and scored on a two-out Jeremy Barnes double. Anthony Hewitt however popped out to end the threat.

Game Two will feature RHP Jonathan Pettibone (3-4, 4.32) taking on RHP Andre Rienzo (1-4, 6.20).
